Dr. Maria Riccardi, PsyD, LP
Dr. Maria Riccardi is a Clinical Psychologist specializing in the mental health and development of children, adolescents, and young adults. Her professional areas of focus include child development and brain differences, including ADHD, autism, and learning difficulties. She also brings specialized training in child traumatic stress, anxiety disorders, and obsessive-compulsive disorder (OCD). She is passionate about supporting youth and their families though evidence based, client centered, and affirming care.
Dr. Riccardi earned her doctoral degree in Clinical Psychology from Indiana State University and completed her doctoral internship at the Nebraska Consortium in Professional Psychology, where she received extensive training in developmental assessment, trauma-informed care, and interdisciplinary collaboration. Over the course of her career, she has worked in clinic, community-based, and medical settings, gaining a diverse range of experience and a deep understanding of the unique challenges and strengths that young people and their families experience.
In her current role at Midwest, Dr. Riccardi’s work focuses on comprehensive psychological assessments, using evidence-based tools to evaluate cognitive, emotional, behavioral, and developmental functioning. These evaluations guide diagnosis, treatment planning, and educational or therapeutic recommendations tailored to each individual’s needs.
Fluent in both English and Spanish, Dr. Riccardi enjoys working with Spanish-speaking children and their families, providing culturally sensitive and linguistically accessible support.
Outside of her clinical work, Dr. Riccardi enjoys spending time with family, friends, and her pets. A lifelong creative, she finds joy in crafting, writing, art, and playing guitar. She is passionate about the power of creativity, storytelling, and self-expression.
