Maggie Applegarth, MSW, LICSW

Meet Maggie, an accomplished professional with six years of specialized experience in evaluating and treating children and adolescents diagnosed with Autism Spectrum Disorder. She earned a Bachelor of Arts in Psychology Degree and Bachelor of Arts in Criminal Justice Degree at the University of St. Thomas. Additionally, she conducted notable research under the guidance of the University of St. Thomas Psychology Department Chair, leading to consecutive acceptances to the Midwest Psychological Association research conference in Chicago, Illinois. Furthering her academic pursuits, Maggie studied abroad at Bond University in Queensland, Australia, focusing on Psychology and Criminal Justice. Immediately after completing her Bachelor's Degree, she earned a Masters of Clinical Social Work degree at the University of St. Thomas. 

Maggie's professional journey includes significant roles such as a Mental Health Technician at Fraser, where she worked with young children diagnosed with Autism Spectrum Disorder, and experience in Day Treatment at Washburn Center for Children, specializing in trauma-related disorders and neurodivergence. She also contributed her skills on child/adolescent and adult inpatient psychiatric units at Abbott Northwestern, handling a diverse range of DSM-5 diagnoses.

Currently, Maggie specializes in providing Comprehensive Multi-Disciplinary Evaluations (CMDE) for families seeking Early Intensive Developmental and Behavioral Intervention (EIDBI). She approaches her work with a strengths-based perspective, values resilience, and advocates for neurodiversity affirmation. Maggie emphasizes the importance of collaborative efforts of a multi-disciplinary team and early intervention in her practice, ensuring families find her approach empathetic, non-judgmental, and supportive.
